Located in the city of Mechelen, the brewery has been producing beers under the name Het Anker since 1872. The brewery’s most famous brand is Gouden Carolus, a beer originally brewed in honor of Emperor Charles V, who spent his childhood in the brewery’s hometown of Mechelen.
